Manual therapy is a specialisation within physiotherapy at the master’s degree level. A manual therapist focuses on investigating and treating conditions and disorders originating from the spine and all other joints.
In general, a manual therapist treats conditions that, in addition to pain, are associated with restricted movement of one or more joints of the body. The therapist will use specific mobilisation and manipulation techniques to restore mobility in the joint. The effects of manual therapy are usually immediately noticeable and provide immediate relief from your symptoms.
